Warm day in January, Cape Cod

Well, the Dixie Chicks song about a cold day in July just may come to pass, judging by the opposite effect we've had here on Cape Cod.  On New Year's Day, which is usually cold, icy, snowy, windy, and miserable. . . it was warm enough to walk the sunny beach in a sweatshirt, and the grandson was up to his knees in the water, declaring that it was warm!  It didn't take long, though, before he trotted out up onto the white sand of Mayflower Beach in Dennis.

He caught a live crab and carried it around by a leg for a few minutes, but then put it back in the water as the gulls circled over his head, hoping for a snack.

Christmas has come and gone, but I refuse to take down my Christmas tree just yet. I love the ambiance of the lights, and my house will be lonely without it.  I may have to get busy and invent a light installation that is low energy and just as pretty.

From Wellfleet, this entry on my novel. .. and thank you for that!

So,  I do hereby commit to applying butt glue and writing more. .. so I can finish novel number 2.  And, I'm working on walking further on my new leg.  I can walk. Just want to walk far enough to feel like I am really me again.  And I want to see Ireland.
